Music Therapy for End of Life Care
Chicagoland Palliative Music Care
Music Therapy can be used to address goals for the patient in a non-threatening manner. Common hospice specific goals for music therapy are to alleviate pain, decrease anxiety, enhance memory, and encourage self expression. Music therapy can also address family and caregiver needs such as anticipatory grief, respite or allowing the caregiver to observe the
positive effect of music therapy. Music therapists are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team.
