By addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, we at At Oasis Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. place this holistic philosophy of care at the heart of everything we do.
Our goal, is to deliver the best care, in part, by creating a nurturing environment where every patient feels valued, understood, and supported.
In honor of Integrative Health Month, let’s take a closer look at the incredible work our team does to ensure compassionate, comprehensive care for all.
The Power of an Interdisciplinary Team
Hospice care requires a unique blend of skill and compassion.
At Oasis, our interdisciplinary team includes professionals from diverse fields who collaborate seamlessly to ensure every aspect of care is covered.
Nursing Team: The Foundation of Compassion and Care
Our nurses are the heartbeat of our care. They provide expert medical support, monitor symptoms, administer treatments, and offer reassurance to patients and families. With a focus on pain management and comfort, our nursing team ensures that each patient’s journey is as peaceful as possible.
Psychosocial Support: Navigating Emotional Journeys
The emotional toll of a terminal illness can be overwhelming for both patients and families. Our social workers and counselors provide essential psychosocial support, helping families navigate tough decisions, access resources, and find moments of clarity and comfort during difficult times.
Bereavement Team: Continuing the Care Beyond the Moment
Grief doesn’t have an expiry date, which is why our bereavement team remains a cornerstone of our services. Through individual counseling, support groups, and regular check-ins, we walk alongside families as they process loss, ensuring they never feel alone.
Administrative Team: The Unsung Heroes of Hospice Care
Behind every act of care is a network of dedicated administrators who keep everything running smoothly. From scheduling and billing to coordinating care plans, our teams work tirelessly to remove barriers and streamline the patient and family experience.
Here at Oasis Hospice, we love to go above and beyond. In doing so, we also offer services that to some may seem unusual, but to us, are foundational.
On staff we have a dietitian, helping play a vital role in maintaining our patients quality of life. By working with families to create meal plans that suit individual needs, we at Oasis Hospice, and specifically in our inpatient facility, HOUSE of GOSHEN, are able to honor our patients through things as simple as food choice, ensuring a dignity and comfort.
In as much as we wish to nourish the body, we also aim to comfort the soul.
Our diverse psychosocial team includes multiple chaplains, counsellors, and even a music therapist. By offering practical resources for our patients, and allowing them to feel at peace, we do our best to offer services that brings care back to the forefront of the healthcare industry.
A Community Built on Compassion
At Oasis Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., we believe holistic care extends beyond the patient, and includes their families, loved ones, and the wider community.
Through services like bereavement counseling, grief support groups, and community outreach events, we foster a network of care that touches countless lives.
As part of our commitment to integrative health, we encourage anyone interested in supporting our mission to also consider volunteering.
Whether through companionship, administrative tasks, or specialized skills like art or music, our volunteers make a profound difference in the mission of Oasis Hospice.
